ok so here's the real reason for the name change...

Dear  brethren,

Sometime ago,  we were made aware of the existence of another YFC-Youth for Christ, USA established  in 1942 that is incorporated here and abroad in over 132 countries.  This came to our knowledge late 2002  after having organized our own global family ministries beginning in 1993.  Their legal counsel wrote our CFC  Executive Director, Frank Padillia requesting us to change our youth ministry  name as theirs has been a registered trademark in the US for many years. The issue was  endorsed to us and after due deliberation of our CFC elders, CFC-YOUTH Council  and our own legal counsel, the CFC-USA Council approved a resolution to  officially use the name CFC-YOUTH or COUPLES FOR CHRIST-YOUTH hereon replacing our ministry name of YFC (Youth for Christ) in the  US.  We sent them an acknowledgment  letter to this effect.  Note that  this implementation fall within our area coverage here in the US. Their YFC have been very  considerate of our plight realizing that a name change will entail a lot of time  and effort.  However, to alleviate  further confusion between their members and ours, specially in the light of our  upcoming CONTINENTAL LEADERS FORUM, our youth ministry will use CFC-YOUTH  or COUPLES FOR CHRIST-YOUTH effective immediately.  Please disseminate this directive to all  concerned, this includes any modification to existing websites, links, reference  to official functions (e.g. conferences, summits, camps etc.).  Your prompt response regarding the  matter will be highly appreciated.  Thank you and GOD bless  CFC-YOUTH!
